A promising start to 2009
Despite increasing competition in the Insurance Management sector, family owned and run Aspray Ltd are experiencing a surge in interest and have expanded with six new branches in the UK and two more in Ireland in the first part of this year. Established in 2005, Aspray Ltd now has 52 branches across the UK and Ireland.
With the professional guidance of Ecompli, a leading UK compliance company, Aspray’s management team has developed a lucrative and successful business which deals principally with managing building insurance claims, tenanted property refurbishments and general building services on behalf of the general public.
Nevertheless their success has not been without its testing times particularly after receiving a shocking blow from the FSA who, in the first part of 2008, issued a £21,000 fine for less than satisfactory findings in certain areas of administration.
As James Whittle states ‘we were absolutely devastated with the negative findings of the FSA last year, especially as we hadn’t received a single client complaint. Our experience and good name means everything to us. Our business has only been successful because of the trust and satisfaction we get from our customers.
I immediately contacted Ecompli based on their reputation within our industry to deal with the administrative shortcomings of just one or two of our branches. We were so impressed with Ecompli’s attention to detail and immense support at a difficult time that they are now an integral part of our team training and development in every branch in the UK and Ireland.
Since Aspray Ltd have received some less than positive reviews in the press this year Ecompli’s Managing Director, Suzanne Gibson, has been keen to set the record straight by issuing this statement:
“Following the FSA’s original visit it is clearly evident that Aspray have focused all of their attention on ensuring that they are abiding by the set rules and that their compliance procedures are fully up to date. They started this process by immediately contacting us at Ecompli and we have since provided them with thorough compliance support that ensures that they have stringent procedures in place.
Aspray have embraced all of the compliance advice that we have given to them and the regulator is now satisfied that they are meeting the necessary criteria. Since we have become involved in providing compliance support to Aspray we have visited a vast number of their Appointed Representatives and have written detailed post visit reports which clearly evidence that they are meeting the rules and are treating their customers fairly.”
Next weekend Aspray Ltd will be holding their bi-annual review in Cork with representatives from each branch in attendance. As well as highlighting areas for growth, the main message will be to stress the importance of administration and compliance. Suzanne Gibson will be speaking about the new administration procedures Ecompli have devised to ensure that Aspray deliver a comprehensive, transparent service to each and every customer.
Mark Orton, recently appointed Head of Business and Communications for Aspray Ltd, is extremely positive about the company’s future: ‘Not only are we continuing to attract like-minded people to come on board and set up new branches throughout the UK and Ireland, we are forging great relationships with all sectors of our business which will enable us to grow in every area. We experienced such positive reactions from members of our industry at this year’s BIBA in May this year. We are also working with the BDMA which will enable us to extend the service we currently offer. The British Damage Management Association (BDMA) only allows certified restoration practitioners to display the Collective Mark, allowing potential customers and the public in general to identify highly skilled technicians and damage management organisations. This year we are also continuing to work for UPS and the Church of England on a national scale which provides interesting and varied work for every branch of Aspray Ltd and has been a great boost for company morale.
Aspray Ltd specialises in project managing insurance-related property repairs, offering a comprehensive service from quotation to completion. We pride ourselves in reducing the hassle for our customers at a stressful time. Aspray Ltd also undertakes building repairs for both private individuals and commercial organisations.
